MacTell Announces PowerJOLT MacOS 8.6 Compatibility
MacTell has officially announced that their line of G3 PowerJOLT cards are MacOS 8.6 compatible. This includes controlling software as well. According to MacTell:

Mactell Corporation today announced that all of their G3 PowerJOLT processor upgrade cards and software are fully compliant and running great with OS 8.6.

"We have been testing since 8.6 went GM and are confident that all of our upgrade cards run smoothly with Apple's new OS. The PowerJOLT Control Utility is as responsive and dynamic as it has proved to be in previous operating systems and the performance gains of the cards are in line with all prior benchmarks," confirmed Shaun Mohle, Mactell's Chief Technical Officer.

The PowerJOLT Control Utility is shipping with all G3 PowerJOLT upgrade cards, including the OverDrive, G-Max, and PowerJOLT, and presently supports G3 PowerBooks, Gossamer, and Yosemite computers from Apple.

Presently, the pricing for the G3 PowerJOLT line is as follows:

PowerJOLT Series

266MHz/512K/2:1 249.00
333MHz/1024K/1.5:1 529.00
366MHz/1024K/2:1 599.00
400MHz/1024K/2:1 699.00

GMax Series

320MHz/1024K/2:1 649.00

OverDrive Series

400MHz/1024K/2:1 649.00
466MHz/1024K/2:1 799.00

The Mac Observer Spin: We can attest to this, at least with the 400 MHz PowerJOLT cards. The Mac Observer has been running two PowerComputing machines on the PowerJOLT under MacOS 8.6 for several weeks.
