Mac Company Named To Hot 100 By Upside
Electrifier Inc. has been named to the Hot 100 by Upside magazine. Electrifier is the maker of Electrifier Pro, the multimedia development environment for the Mac. According to a press release from Electrifier, Inc.:

UPSIDE magazine today announced that Electrifier, Inc. has been selected to receive the 1999 Hot 100 Award, UPSIDE's annual award recognizing excellence and innovation among the hottest technology industry startups.

UPSIDE will publish the Hot 100 Award winners in its June 1999 issue, which is devoted almost entirely to profiling the winning companies. The UPSIDE Hot 100 Award winners were first unveiled online at UpsideToday.com.

The 1999 UPSIDE Hot 100 were selected by a team of UPSIDE editors, venture capitalists, financial analysts, market researchers and other industry luminaries who evaluated more than 800 nominations. The UPSIDE Hot 100 Award is judged on a company's technological achievements, customer acceptance of products or services, financial performance, industry partnerships, financial backing, management savvy and marketing.

Other companies chosen for this exclusive award include MP3.com, Drugstore.com, Buy.com, GoTo.com, Agency.com, LookSmart and Red Hat Software.

The Mac Observer Spin: Electrifier has really been generating quite the media buzz of late. They recently received major funding from an impressive list of investors and they have seen Electrifier Pro really take off. Not bad for a lil' ol' Mac company, eh?
