[9:00 AM] MacLaunch Begins Corporate Empire, Acquires Mac Web Site
by Staff

MacLaunch has announced that they have acquired the My MacConnect site from the Macintosh based internet company, MacConnect. This puts MacLaunch in position to be the number one internet "portal" site for Mac users, providing e-mail, news, and other personalized features. According to MacLaunch:

The My MacConnect launch site combines Mac-centric news feeds with general interest news feeds, a Mac-centric search engine and a wide area web search tool. Mac friendly chat rooms, package tracking, weather information and stock lookup functions round out the My MacConnect site. The combination of My MacConnect and MacLaunch will enable My MacConnect users to access a wider variety of Mac-centric portal tools. The My MacConnect site will be merged into the MacLaunch site in the near future.

MacLaunch is dedicated to providing a wide range of online information and communication services with a decidedly Mac-centric twist. Picking up where standard Internet portal sites fall short for the Mac user community, MacLaunch combines Mac-centric news, opinions, software updates, shopping opportunities and a fully searchable database of Mac-related Internet sites with standard portal tools such as free e-mail, chat services, news, sports, weather, financial management tools and a global Internet directory/search service.
