Apple Stock Watch: Apple Closes At Another All Time High
Apple did it again today by closing at another all time high. The Nasdaq charged along throughout the day, itself setting an all time high, though Apple went in and out of positive territory throughout the day's trading. By late afternoon however, Apple stayed in the green and closed at 77 7/16, a gain of 1 7/8 or 2.48%. Volume continued to be moderately heavy with 4,096,100 shares trading hands.

Favorable pricing reports helped the Nasdaq along as traders once again put thoughts of an interest rate hikes out of their minds.

Despite the generally favorable mood of the market, not all of Apple's competitors shared in the gains. Microsoft, Dell, Gateway 2000 (up over 5%), Compaq (up over 9%), and IBM all closed higher. Hewlett-Packard and Intel both closed lower.

The Dow and the Nasdaq also showed mixed results with the Dow closing at 11028.43, a loss of 50.97, and the Nasdaq closing at 2887.06 (an all time high), a gain of 35.04.
