[12:45 PM] Cool New Utility Regulates Icons After Resolution Changes

Softwarium has release a handy desktop utility, Restore Desktop. Restore Desktop automates the process of fixing the most annoying side effect of changing your monitor's resolution. According to Softwarium:

Restore Desktop is the Finder Contextual menu plug-in which automatically restores icons' positions on your Desktop during changing of the current resolution. Restore Desktop can memorize icons' positions for any display resolution separately. If you would like to restore icons' position manually, just control-click on your desktop and choose the "Restore Desktop" menu item. Restore Desktop will store positions of everything you once placed on your desktop.

Features

  • Automatically restores icons' positions after display resolution change.
  • You can save and restore icons' position manually
  • Support of the multi-display mode
  • Restore Desktop is the Finder Contextual menu plug-in. (No applications or extensions are needed)

Restore Desktop is available as shareware for US$20. You can find more information at the company's desktop.

The Mac Observer Spin: This is an outstanding example of the rich shareware market that exists for the Mac. It seems that no matter what thing Mac users want to improve about working with their Mac, a shareware developer will develop, or probably has developed, a solution! With more apps coming out for the Mac than ever before, it's a great time to be a Mac user.
