Apple Stock Watch - AAPL Advisory: Apple Sets A New 52-Week High

On Thursday Apple Computer (AAPL) set a new 52-week high of US$22.22 before closing at US$22.19 for the day. At Thursday's closing price Apple's market capitalization (the sum value of all shares outstanding) stood at US$8.044 billion. The last time Apple closed above Thursday's price was June 5, 2002 when AAPL ended the trading day at US$22.72.

In Thursday trading Apple advanced US$.71 on volume of more than 5.7 million shares. Apple's one-day gain of more than 3.3% eclipsed the advance in the broader market. At the close on Thursday the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 9,374.21, up 40.42. The S&P 500 Index finished at 1,002.84, up 6.05. The NASDAQ Composite Index moved higher by 18.05 to close at 1,800.18.
