Apple Q4 Earnings Report Scheduled for October 18

Apple Computer will announce its fourth quarter and full year earnings after market closing on Wednesday, October 18, according to Macworld UK. Overall, analysts are expecting Apple to report good news, even though the company is working on restating earnings for prior years.

During its third quarter earnings conference call, Apple executives stated the company expects to earn between US$4.5 and 4.6 billion this quarter.

Apple's stock has remained relatively strong through the fourth quarter, and has ranged from a low of $47.87 to a high of $86.40 over the past 52 weeks. Apple is currently trading at $73.85, down 1.01 (1.35%).

I would think that earnings are going to be ok for the third quarter calender year since we haven't heard any warnings from Apple. I am thinking that cpu sales will be very good this quarter and iPod sales will also be ok as well. The question remains what kind of guidance will Apple give for calender year 06 4th quarter. I am going to guess that guidance will be increased. One of the analysts has Apple as selling 18 million iPods in the 4th quarter.
