Apple Stock Inching Towards $170

Apple Stock Inching Towards $170

by , 4:45 PM EDT, October 8th, 2007

AAPL stock closed on Monday at US$167.91 and set a new record. Shares were up $6.46 for the day or 4.00 percent.

The trading volume was 29.7 million shares. No specific event seems to be driving the price. However, investors are likely exhuberant over Apple's ability to keep the iPhone locked and likely good news on the Macintosh sales front to be reported at the next earnings report scheduled for Monday, October 22.

Subject: Inching? You mean, like a kangaroo?

I dunno about you but when I look at Apple's stock chart I see that over the past several days the slope of the chart is steeper than it has been in weeks. I wouldn't think that would be called "inching". More like "surging", or "leaping".

(Would have misspelled that animal if I didn't have Mac's spell-checker tapping me on the shoulder.)
