AAPL Climbs Back Up Over $165

AAPL Climbs Back Up Over $165

by , 11:10 AM EST, November 13th, 2007

Apple's stock dropped US$11.61 on Monday to close at $153.76, but by opening on Tuesday had begun recovering and was already at $160.98. By mid morning, the Mac and iPod maker's stock jumped up over the $165 mark.

The company's stock has been on a general upward climb for for weeks, but has been showing some volatility coinciding with Wall Street fluctuations.

Apple's market cap is currently sitting at $144.72 billion. In comparison, Intel's market cap is above Apple at $150.15 billion, IBM is $143.10 billion, and PC maker Dell is at $62.4 billion.

Apple is currently trading at $165.90, up 12.14 (7.90%).

Subject: Money to be made

Apple is in it for the long haul - they have great products, technology and people. iPod? iPhone? Mac? Who else makes anything like these things?

Apple may be riding some bumps in the short term, but in the long term the company has real value. Apple is worth more than Dell for a reason.

Short term buyers/sellers have been able to make quite a bit of money from these bumps and recoveries, however.

Pretty amazing, but then again, realize that Apple is in a great position for the current handheld (iPod, iPhone) computing revolution, even if they're not so competitive in the mainframe/server (Xserve and Leopard virtualization notwithstanding) world.
