TMO Quick Tip - Drag-and-drop Playlists in iTunes
by , 7:30 AM EDT, October 25th, 2006
In true Mac fashion, there's more than one way to build Playlists in iTunes. One slick way to create new Playlists takes advantage of simple drag-and-drop tactics. Here's how:
- Select the songs you want in your new Playlist. If the songs are already grouped together, click the first song to select it, and then Shift-click the last song to select all of the songs between. If the songs aren't grouped together, click the first song to select it, and then Command-click the rest of the songs you want.
- In iTunes 7, drag your group of songs to the Playlist heading in the source list.
- In iTunes 6, drag your group of songs to the title bar at the top of the source list.

Your new playlist will be named "untitled," so be sure to rename it to something more descriptive.
