4D, Inc. Updates Oracle Plug-In With OS X Support

4D, Inc. has released an update for 4D for OCI, bringing it to version 2003.3. 4D for OCI is a plug-in designed for connecting 4D databases with Oracle servers via Oracle Call Interface. The update features support for OS X and an enhanced framework. According to 4D, Inc.:

4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment, 4D Business Kit and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite, announced today the immediate release of 4D for OCI 2003.3, a major upgrade to 4D for OCI.

4D for OCI is a 4D plug-in that allows 4D applications to communicate with ORACLE(r) servers using the comprehensive Oracle Call Interface, or OCI. By allowing a completely native access to ORACLE servers, 4D for OCI offers speed and flexibility in the communication between the 4D application and the ORACLE database.

The new release provides a Mac OS X version of 4D for OCI, and an update to 4D for OCI for Windows now with enhanced performance and support for Oracle 10. Included with the release is an enhanced Framework that makes building 4th Dimension based applications that work with Oracle even easier.
