AAPL Closes at New High: $187

Appleis stock closed on Tuesday at US$187, a new all-time high for the Mac and iPod maker. The companyis stock didnit sit idle after hitting its new high, and in early morning trading on Wednesday climbed up over $188.

The companyis previous closing high came on October 23 with $186.16. The stock also managed to creep up over $189 in pre-market trading on October 25.

Appleis stock has maintained a relative upward trend since the company reported strong fourth quarter earnings on October 22, and continued that trend once Mac OS X 10.5, or Leopard, saw a strong launch on October 26.

The Cupertino-based companyis market cap continues to rise as well. As of Tuesday night that number was sitting at $163.13 billion, $96.5 billion above Dellis $66.63 billion market cap.

Apple is currently trading in the pre-market at $188.15, up 1.15 (0.62%).
