procreate today announced its sponsorship of the Spring 2002 Maitri Art Sale, a nine day event held at One Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, in support of AIDS awareness and Maitri, a Bay-area residence for people living with AIDS.

Running April 5th - 14th, this nine-day spring sale features innovative works of art created by more than 150 Bay-area artists and art students. procreate will be active at the event, offering digital art demonstrations presented by Brad Tompkins, central director of technology for the Art Institutes, one of the countryis premiere design and media arts education institutions.

The Maitri Art Sale features the work of some of the Bay-areais most innovative and creative artists, said Georgia Lee, co-chair of the Maitri Art Sale. Considering the creative potential that procreate offers traditional and digital artists alike, I donit think we could have a more appropriate sponsor.

The Maitri Art Sale will open to the public with an opening night reception on Friday, April 5th from 5 to 10 pm. Artists will be on hand to talk with patrons about their art that includes photography, paintings and sculpture. procreate digital art demonstrations will take place throughout the show. The sale will be open daily from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm through April 14th.
