AJA Video on Monday announced that it has added 2K resolution support, as well as high-definition cross-conversion, to its KONA 3 video capture card. With this update to the software, users can also view 2K resolution video on HD 1080 24P-supported monitors.
Other changes include the addition of 16-channel embedded audio and 96khz AES audio. This is a free update for KONA 3 owners, although the file was not yet available on the AJA Web site as The Mac Observer posted this article. The card is US$2,990, with a rack-mountable IRU enclosure available as an option for $299.
