A Star Wars Movie You Have To Experience To Believe

There are some things in life that transcend such petty arguments as how much better the Mac is than the PC, or whether or not Linux is a vialble alternative to the mainstream operating systems. One such thing is the popularity of Star Wars, and another is just how cool ASCII movies can be. Put the two together and you get what our English friends across the Pond might refer to as a juggernaut. Our PC using friend Dave Bonora took time to let us know about a very cool Star Wars movie that you will have to see to believe. What makes this movie so special is that was made entirely with ASCII characters, and includes some remarkable animations.

The only problem for some Mac users will be the use of a telnet client. However, using telnet is not hard at all and we encourage you to do so. You can download Better Telnet, a great telnet client for the Mac. Also, Mac OS X users can easily telnet from the Terminal window, simply by typing "telnet blekko.com" (without the quotes, of course). Which ever telnet client you use, this movie looks best with a black background and white foreground (some telnet clients may refer to the foreground as "text"). It will work with other colors, but it looks best with the balack background/white foreground. To change these options, look under preferences (or Edit->Terminals in Better Telnet).

To view the movie, telnet to blekko.com. Once there, type starwars. Thatis it. There is no user name or password required to log into blekko.com. The following are some screenshots from the movie, but they do not do them justice. You have to literally have to go and watch the movie to believe it.
