The driver allows a Mac user to access SQL Server databases from applications such as Excel, using queries to populate spreadsheets, charts, and graphs with live data. The driver can also be used to incorporate SQL Server connectivity into third-party applications or even custom software written in Carbon, Cocoa, REALBasic, or PHP.
