Adobe Announces Creative Suite 2, Shipping in May

A dobe took the wraps off its new Creative Suite Monday, which includes all new versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and GoLive, as well as a new Version Cue system, Adobe Bridge file browser, and Adobe Stock Photos.

Detailing everything new in Creative Suite 2 is a daunting task, but Adobe has put together a comprehensive page highlighting the major new additions to each application. Additionally details can be gleaned from each productis page: Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and GoLive CS2. A new version of InCopy CS2 was also introduced alongside Creative Suite 2 for InDesign CS2 users.

Creative Suite 2 is available in Standard and Premium packages, with the latter including GoLive CS2, which is omitted from the Standard Edition, and Acrobat 7.0 Professional. Both packages will starting shipping in May to U.S. customers, with worldwide release arriving in late May and June. Pricing for Creative Suite 2 Standard Edition is $899, while the Premium Edition will cost $1,199.

Creative Suite 2 applications will also be sold individually at the following prices: Photoshop CS2, $599 ($149 upgrade); Illustrator CS2, $499 ($169 upgrade); InDesign CS2, $699 ($169 upgrade); and GoLive CS2, $399 ($169 upgrade). The new InCopy CS2, only sold individually, will cost $249 ($89 upgrade).
