· by · News

Adobe announced the immediate availability of Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 beta on Wednesday. The public beta of the professional image editing and management application is 64-bit ready for Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.5.

The Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 beta also added support for dual monitors, improved the layout in the Library module, added Smart Collections that automatically update with images that match user-defined criteria, added non-destructive editing support for features like dodge and burn, and more.

Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 beta is available for download as a free 30-day trial at the Adobe Labs Web site. Current Lightroom 1 users can test version 2 until August 31, 2008, and can also invite friends to participate in the extended beta program.
