Adobe Lightroom Beta 2 Adds Intel Support, More

Adobe has released the second Beta of its upcoming Lightroom software, adding Support for Intel Macs as well as several other features, including the ability to add music to slideshows, XMP import and export capabilities, crop and straighten tools in the Develop module and the ability to create hierarchical keyword sets.

Lightroom Beta 2 also features white balance support for Nikonis D2X, D2Hs and D50 cameras as well as improved Edit in Photoshop capabilities and better metadata handling. Adobe noted that the software will upgrade its database when users first launch this new version, a process that may take a long time but must be completed.

Adobe released the first Beta of Lightroom during last monthis Macworld Expo in San Francisco. At the time, the company did not disclose final system requirements or pricing, and all it said regarding a ship date was that Lightroom will be available by the end of this year. Adobe did not update any of that on Tuesday.
