Adobe Ships Lightroom 1.0, Camera Raw Update

Adobe began shipping Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 on Monday along with a new Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in update. Photoshop Lightroom is an application that help professional photographers manage and edit digital images. It includes a non-destructive image editing mode, allows users to send images to Photoshop for additional editing, displays images in slideshows, creates image Web pages, and prints image sheets.

Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 is priced at US$199 through April 30, 2007, then climbs to its regular $299 price. The public beta will expire on February 28, 2007.

Camera Raw 3.7 adds Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 support to Photoshop CS2, Photoshop Elements 4 and 5, and Premier Elements 3.0. It supports over 150 cameras, and adds the ability to apply default image settings based on camera serial numbers or ISO settings, and also to share those settings with the DNG converter.

The Camera Raw 3.7 plug-in is free, and available for download at the Adobe Web site.
