Adobe Unveils Digital Editions eBook Reader

Adobe introduced a new eBook reader application on Tuesday dubbed Adobe Digital Editions 1.0. The application supports PDF and XML-based publications, Flash, Adobeis EPUB eBook file format, and honors document licensing and copy protection.

Several free Adobe Digital Editions-compatible publications are available on the Adobe Web site, and InDesign CS3 includes a Digital Editions exporter.

Adobe Digital Editions is available as a free download form the Adobe Web site, and companies including Sony have committed to including the technology in their eBook reader products.
