Adobe XMP 4.1 Extends File Format Compatibility

Adobe released an updated version of its Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) metadata manipulation platform for developers on Friday. Adobe XMP 4.1 adds new libraries with improved support for several file formats including JPEG, PSD, TIFF, AVI, WAV, MPEG, MP3, MOV, INDD, PS, EPS and PNG. The libraries have also been optimized into two components: XMP Core and XMP Files.

The source code for Adobe XMP 4.1 is available as a free download from the Adobe Web site, and requires Appleis XCode 2.3 or higher.
