· by Brad Gibson · News

Adobe Systems Inc. has temporarily removed the latest update of its Acrobat software for Mac, saying "a problem" has been found generating PDF files with Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac.

MacObserver readers report the advisory was posted on the companyis Web site as early as Thursday evening, Pacific Standard Time.

Both the professional and standard versions of the product are affected, the company said, but is not related to the security vulnerabilities addressed by the update, which was released on Decemebr 13.

"For those who have already installed the 6.0.3 update and use Office 2004 for Mac, we will post any additional steps that may be necessary to reapply this update," a Web site statement read.

An Adobe spokesperson was not immediately available for further explanation.
