Alias SketchBook Pro 2 Ships

Alias Systems Corp. announced Wednesday it has started shipping SketchBook Pro 2, a new version of the paint and drawing application for Mac OS X and Windows.

SketchBook Pro 2 offers users better usability and a number of new features, including enhanced brush controls, support for an unlimited number of image layers, broader support for image types including BMP, GIF, JPG and PNG, and the ability to save layered Photoshop files, the ability to import images into a layer stack, lasso select, interactive brush resize, image and canvas resize, and and support for up to 75 brushstroke or action undos and redos.

System requirements are Mac OS X v10.3 or later, a Mac G4 or better with 256 megabytes of memory, a display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 and graphics memory of at least 32MB.

SketchBook Pro 2 retails for US$199. Users of the first version can upgrade for $79 electronically or $99 on disc. A trial version is available for download.
