Apple Announces Power Supply Replacement Program For Mirrored Door/WindTunnel Noisy PowerMacs

T hanks to the good folks at MacFixit for noticing this, and thanks to TMO forum member CrazyOne for telling us about MacFixit noticing it, we are delighted to bring you word that Apple has launched a power supply replacement program for the WindTunnel PowerMac G4 line. Appropriately enough, it is called "The Power Mac G4 Power Supply Exchange Program," and it allows owners of what Apple calls the "Mirrored Drive Doors" PowerMac model, and what the owners call the "WindTunnel" PowerMac, to replace the power supply on the unit with a quieter one. The program is being enacted as a kit that costs US$19.95, and includes everything needed to replace the offending power supplies. From Appleis announcement page:
