Apple Cancels September’s Apple Expo In Paris, Cites Safety Concerns

In surprise announcement, Apple issued a terse press release today saying that it was cancelling the Apple Expo that was scheduled to take place next week in Paris. The company says it is making the move for safety reasons, emphasizing that safety was the companyis primary concern. From Apple:

Apple® today announced the cancelation of Apple Expo 2001, which was scheduled to take place at the Paris Expo in Porte de Versailles, September 26-30, 2001.

"Weire canceling Apple Expo in the wake of last weekis devastating and tragic events," said Steve Jobs, Appleis CEO. "Weire sorry to disappoint our users and developers, but their safety is our primary concern."

The press release directs people to Appleis Hot News Web page for more information, but as of this writing there is not yet any mention of this on that page.
