Apple Expands Open Source Offerings

Ernest Prabhakar, Appleis Open Source Product manager, announced on Monday that the company is expanding its open source support. Developers now have access to Mac OS X 10.4.7 buildable kernel sources for PowerPC and Intel Macs, an open source version of the iCal Server in Leopard Server, Apache-licensed Bonjour and Launchd source, and Mac OS Forge - an open source community and project support Web site.

The open source code for the Mac OS X kernel is available at Appleis Developer Web site. The iCal Server, Bonjour, and Launchd source code is all available at the Mac OS Forge Web site.
