Apple Extends iBook Logic Board Program...Again

< a href="http://www.apple.com/">Apple Computer has announced an extension of its iBook Logic Board Replacement program for a third time, now running until March 18, 2005.

The program, first announced in January 2004, covers repair or replacement of the logic board in specific iBook models manufactured between May 2002 and April 2003 that are experiencing specific component failure on the logic board. Symptoms would include scrambled or distorted video, appearance of unexpected lines on the screen, intermittent video images, freezing video and the iBook starting up with a blank screen.

iBooks with serial numbers in the UV117XXXXXX to UV342XXXXXX range are covered by the program, which allows owners of affected computers to send them to an Apple repair center for no-cost servicing.
