Apple Looking For Another MacBook Manufacturer August 16th, 2006 at 3:00 PM - News by Jeff Gamet Apple is on the hunt for an additional factory to build MacBooks, and it looks like Foxconn Electronics - the same company that builds some iPod models - is on the short list. According to DigiTimes, Apple plans to contract Foxconn to produce a 15-inch version of the MacBook. If so, that will significantly blur the line between its pro and consumer portable Mac products. Right now, Asustek is Appleis MacBook manufacturer, and Quanta Computer builds the MacBook Pro. Earlier this year, Foxconn found itself in the middle of a labor law violation scandal involving its iPod production methods.
