Apple Looks Into iMac Freezes

· by · News

Apple is looking into problems with the newest iMacs locking up after customers flooded the support forum this week, according to Computerworld on Friday.

No one is quote sure what the cause it. Some users have rolled back prior to the September 1.1 update with success and some have not had as good results. Other theorize that the problem is with the ATI graphics cards or drivers.

Apple has responded as follows: "A small number of iMac users have made us aware that a recent software update issued by Apple can sometimes cause their iMacs to freeze, requiring them to restart their iMac," an Apple spokesman said. "We are tracking down the root cause of this bug, and will issue a software update which corrects it as soon as we can -- most likely later this month."
