Apple Lures Executive From IBM To Be VP Of Asia Pacific Operations

Apple has named Tony Ho to be vice president of Asia Pacific. TheStar Online is reporting that Mr. Ho is coming from IBM to join Appleis Asian team, and that he has experience in China. The Chinese market has been an elusive one for Apple, even while it represents one of the strongest areas of growth in the global PC industry. From TheStar Online article:

Based in Beijing, China, Ho would be responsible for driving the strategic direction and business plans to grow the companyis revenue in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan), Apple said in a statement.

He will also expand the companyis customer base, lead sales and marketing function and direct the channel strategy throughout the region.
