Apple Opens Retail Apple Store in Taiwan

Apple Computer broadened its overseas retail operations by opening its first retail Apple Store in Taiwan on Saturday, December 23rd. Taiwan newspaper DigiTimes reported Tuesday that the store opened in Taipei in an area "famous for a large number of consumer electronic stores."

The store has three floors, 4,270 square feet of retail space, and DigiTimes cited unnamed sources who put the cost of the opening the store at US$4.6 million. The Taipei store has not yet been added to Appleis retail site at Apple.com.
