Apple Posts QuickTime 7.3 and iTunes 7.5, Mac and Windows

Apple posted two new updates on Monday, QuickTime 7.3 and iTunes 7.5. Both implement minor changes for iPhone support, QuickTime 7.3 adddresses security issues and iTunes 7.5 introduces a new game, Phase, for some iPods. The updates apply to both Mac OS X and Windows.

"iTunes 7.5 features the ability to activate iPhone wherever service is offered and support for Phase, a new interactive music game designed exclusively for iPod nano (third generation), iPod classic, and iPod (fifth generation). This release also includes bug fixes to improve stability and performance," according to the installer.

"QuickTime 7.3 addresses critical security issues and delivers:

  • Support for iTunes 7.5
  • Updated support for creating iPhone-compatible web content
  • Updated JavaScript support in the QuickTime Web Plug-in
  • Numerous bug fixes

This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users," also according to the installer. There is also a version for Tiger users. While both have been posted for Intel Macs, only the QuickTime 7.3 update has so far appeared for PPC on this reporteris 10.4 system.

In addition, both updates for QuickTime 7.3 and iTunes 7.5 also apply to Windows.
