· by · News

Apple is preparing to release an update for iPhoto, according to documents found on the Internet. What appears to be a legitimate Akamai URL downloads an Apple disk image that contains the new version and a ReadMe file explaining the new features. Akamai provides Apple with bandwidth and server capacity for file downloads and other needs. The fileis URL no longer functions, but did at the time of this writing.

The new version, dubbed 1.1, includes a variety of new features, including e-mail abilities, the ability to control your desktop and screen saver from within iPhoto, and other management features. The updateris URL has begun to circulate, and the ReadMe file is dated April 26th, 2002.

Appleis official policy is to not comment on unreleased products.
