Apple Readies 200th Retail Store

On October 26th, Apple will open its 200th retail store in SanTan Village in Gilbert, Ariz. Itis a milestone for Apple, according to ifo AppleStore on Tuesday.

Since Apple opened its first retail store at Tysons Corner on May 19th, 2001, Appleis retail stores have reached US$1B in annual sales, an industry record.

Since that first store, Apple has averaged opening one store every 11.7 days.

According to ifo AppleStore, Apple will detail the number of stores they plan to open in 2008 at their Quarterly Results Call on Oct 22nd.
