Apple Releases Common Criteria Tools 1.0

Apple Computer has released Common Criteria Tools 1.0, a security evaluation tool for government and private industry.

According to the companyis release notes, the tool is an "internationally approved set of security standards which provides a clear and reliable evaluation of the security capabilities of Information Technology products."

Adopted by fourteen nations, the criteria tool explains in detail each Apple CPU product and its specifications to meet security needs and internal standards. Governmental organizations use common criertia guidelines to determine if products meet the needs of a selected group. By having an software tool like the one released by Apple, organizations can more easily and quickly evaluate products before purchasing them.
