Apple Releases New Version Of Safari (1.0b2 v74)

· by · News

Apple has released a new version of Safari through the Software Update Control Panel in Mac OS X. The new version is 1.0b2 v74, whereas the previous version released April 14th is 1.0b2 v.73. Both releases are officially part of the Beta 2 series. The sparse notes accompanying the update in the Software Update Control Panel suggest that the update merely addresses security issues with Safari, and does not include any other new features or enhancements. That note:

This update is recommended for all Safari users and improves how Safari validates the authenticity of Web sites that use SSL certificates.

The update is available from the Software Update Control Panel, though some users are reporting that it does not show up for them. You can also find the new version on Appleis Safari Web site at the Download Now link.
