Apple Releases OS X 10.3.9 Update for Desktops & Servers

As hinted Thursday in an update to its iSight camera, Apple Computer released Friday Mac OS X 10.3.9 for desktops and OS X 10.3.9 for servers.

The desktop update delivers overall improved compatibility and reliability for Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther", including improvements to file sharing and directory services reliability for mixed Mac and PC networks, Mail, Safari and Stickies application reliability, better compatibility with third-party applications and devices and previous standalone security updates.

The Mac OS X Server v10.3.9 update includes better reliability of Open Directory authentication requests, and Active Directory integration, an update to Cyrus version 2.2.10 for more reliable e-mail message storage, better AFP performance when listing large files and directories, better reliability of Ethernet communications on Xserve, improved compatibility with third party applications and devices and previous standalone security updates.
