Apple Releases QuickTime 7.02 Update

· by Brad Gibson · News

Apple Computer released Wednesday QuickTime 7.02, an update to its multimedia software.

According to Apple, "QuickTime 7.0.2 delivers numerous important bug fixes and compatibility enhancements. This update is highly recommended for all QuickTime 7 users."

The company also notes that installation of QuickTime 7 will disable the QuickTime Pro functionality in prior versions of QuickTime, including QT Pro versions 5 and 6. This means users -- including those upgrading -- will have to pay US$29.99.

The 33 megabyte update is available via the Mac OS X Software Update only, at the time of this posting.

QT 7.0.2 requires a G3/400 megahertz or later, 128MB of memory and Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.

Thanks to TMO reader Cindy Moore for advising us of this update.
