Apple Releases iPod Software Update For Panther

Apple has released an update for the iPod, bringing iPod Software to version 1.3.1. The new version is designed to improve the way the iPod works with Panther, but the updater is only for the recent iterations of iPod that come with a dock. From Software Update Control Panel:

iPod Software 1.3.1 improves compatibility between Mac OS X, version 10.3 Panther, and your iPod:

If your iPod requires updating, the iPod Software Updater will run and allow you to install iPod Software 1.3.1 the next time you plug in your iPod and iTunes is launched.

iPod Software 1.3.1 supports only iPods without a dock connector.
