Apple Updates Logic Express and Logic Pro

< A href="http://www.apple.com">Apple Computer has released minor upgrades to both Logic Pro and Logic Express, bringing both recording applications to version 7.0.1. The updates improve performance and include bug fixes, and were timed to coincide with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the biggest recording industry trade show that begins Thursday in Anaheim, CA.

According to Apple:

The Logic Express 7.0.1 Update enhances reliability and performance. Furthermore, it contains improvements in the following areas:

  • Compatibility with Audio Units and other formats
  • Track Automation
  • Control Surfaces
  • Various further improvements

The Logic Pro 7.0.1 Update enhances reliability and performance. Furthermore, it contains improvements in the following areas:

  • Compatibility with Audio Units and other formats
  • Track Automation
  • Control Surfaces
  • Ultrabeat
  • Various further improvements

Both release notes also stress that the update improves compatibility with a number of Audio Units plug-ins, and that your Audio Units plug-ins will be rescanned the first time Logic Pro 7.0.1 is launched.

The updates are free to registered owners of the software. The full version of Logic Pro is priced at $999 and Logic Express is priced at $299. Both can be purchased directly from the Apple Store.
