Apple Updates MacBook Pro Firmware, Restoration CD

· by · News

Apple released a new firmware update for the MacBook Pro along with a new firmware restoration CD for Intel-based Macs on Thursday. The MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.3 addresses a display issue found on the 2.2GHz and 2.4GHz 15-inch MacBook Pro. The update is free, and available through the Apple Software Update application, or as a stand-alone installer on the Apple Support Web site.

Apple also released the Firmware Restoration CD 1.3 for Intel-based Macs. The CD restores the default computer firmware in the event of a failed or interrupted firmware update. It does not, however, restore the default firmware on Macs that have been successfully updated to a newer version. Firmware Restoration CD 1.3 is free, and available for download as a disk image at the Apple Support Web site.
