Aspyr Releases Battlefield 1942 Dedicated Server

· by · Games

Aspyr has released Battlefield 1942 Dedicated Server 1.0, software that allows Mac users to run their own Battlefield 1942 server on a separate Mac for multiplayer game play. Battlefield 1942 is a very popular WWII simulation game that allows both single and multiplayer action centered around 16 battle sites from the war. From Aspyr:

This download allows Mac users to run a Battlefield 1942 server that is dedicated to multiplayer, so they can use a spare Mac as a base machine to play alongside other friends. It enables support for more users in multiplayer than running a server on a Mac while playing Battlefield 1942.

Battlefield 1942™ takes players to battle at land, sea and air, allowing them to choose from 16 famous battle sites, including Omaha Beach, Stalingrad and Wake Island. With the ability to control more than 35 authentic Axis and Allied vehicles and select from five distinct character classes, players are faced with incredible choices in their plan of action.

The download is free, and you can download it from MacGameFiles.com. You can find more information on Battlefield 1942 at Aspyris Web site. The full game, which is required to use the dedicated server software, lists for US$49.99, and is available from Amazon.com for US$44.99.
