Atomic Bird Updates Macaroni With Expanded Data Cleaning

Atomic Bird has released an update for Macaroni, bringing it to version 1.4.1. Macaroni is an automatic maintenance utility designed for regular system clean up. The update features expanded data cleaning found in OS Xis printing systems. According to Atomic Bird:

Product Update Announcement: Macaroni 1.4.1 released.

Why should you have to remember to clean up your Mac once a week, or once a month? Shouldnit a computer be able to remember for you?

Macaroni is a tool which handles regular maintenance for Mac OS X. Normally these tasks run on a regular schedule, in the middle of the night. However if you donit leave your Mac on all night, they never run. Your Mac wonit wake from sleep to handle this.

New in this release:

Macaroniis Unix-style maintenance now cleans old data files not cleaned by other maintenance tools, even those from Apple!

This includes files left behind by Mac OS Xis printing system, and others, which can add up to tens or hundreds of megabytes of wasted space.

You can find more information about the Macaroni update at the Atomic Bird Web site. Macaroni is available for US$7.99.
