Australian Retailer David Jones To Sell Macs

Just yesterday, it was announced that Best Buy would soon begin to sell Macs once again. Today, the announcement comes all the way across the globe, from our friends Down Under. According to an article at ARNnet, David Jones, an Australian department store chain, has announced that it will begin selling Macs at its stores. While the Sydney David Jones store has carried Macs for a few weeks, the program will now be expanding to other stores. From ARNnet:

Apple computers are coming soon to a David Jones store near you. In fact, Sydneysiders have been able to buy a full range of Apple gear from the chainis Sydney city store for several weeks.

Appleis resellers were informed of the move at its recent channel conference at Hamilton Island. The vendor had been keeping quiet about the move back into the department store market, as it was still in pilot phase, according to marketing manager, Arno Lenior.

While Lenior refused to be drawn on the timetable for the national rollout across David Jonesi stores, a spokesperson for Apple confirmed it planned to roll out nationally "as the time comes."
