Australia's Sydney Apple Store to Open June 19

Appleis first retail store in Australia is set to open on June 19 in Sydney. The doors to the three-story store will open to the public at 5PM local time, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Appleis first store in Australia likely wonit be its last, either. The companyis retail boss, Ron Johnson, commented "Weire not coming to open a single store in Sydney."

He did not say which cities the Cupertino company plans to open stores in, or when they plan on adding more Australian stores. It appears, however, that stores are already under construction north of Sydney in Chatswood, and in Melbourneis Chadstone Shopping Centre.

Apple will be giving away T-shirts to the first 2,500 visitors.

The Sydney Apple Store is located at the intersection of King and George Streets.
