Avernum 2 Updated

Spiderweb Software has updated their popular role-playing game, Avernum 2, to version 1.0.2. Avernum 2 is a role-playing game based on the classic style of such legendary games as the Ultima and Wizardry series. According to Spiderweb Software:

Avernum 2, our latest fantasy role-playing game for the Macintosh, has been upgraded to v1.0.2. A patch is also available. The update fixes a variety of smaller bugs and dramatically improves the game balance near the end of the game. Updating is recommended but not absolutely necessary. The demo and patch are available at:

Avernum is a prison. It is an enormous warren of tunnels and caverns, far below the surface world. You were banished there by the cruel Empire, to spend the rest of your life in the underworld. However, what little safety and peace you had found there was short-lived. Your home has been invaded by overpowering forces. It falls to you to find help for your people and fend off the invaders. If you fail, your home and everyone in it are doomed.

Avernum 2 is an old-school fantasy role-playing game, designed for anyone who wants a huge game with a fascinating plot and longs for the good old days of Ultima and Wizardry. It features beautiful 3-D, 16-bit graphics, including drawings by well-known fantasy illustrator Phil Foglio, a massive storyline with three different game-winning quests (complete one or two of them, or even all three), and addicting gameplay. Avernum 2 is the sequel to the hit retro-rpg Avernum.

Avernum 2 is available for US$25. You can find more information at the Spiderweb Software Web site.
