Baker Gets A New Name And An Update

Parker Software Development, Inc. has released NewsHunter 1.5.4. NewsHunter, formerly know as Baker from Eridanus, is now being distributed by Parker Software under the new moniker. NewsHunter is an automatic download utility designed for Usenet newsgroups. The latest version features Persistent Article Queues for download resume/suspension and other new functions. According to Parker Software Development:

Parker Software Development, Inc. has released NewsHunter 1.5.4. NewsHunter is an application that automates the process of downloading images and files from Usenet newsgroups. NewsHunter runs under OS X. There is also NewsHunter Classic for those who have not yet upgraded to Apple Computeris latest operating system.

The announcement comes at the tail end of an agreement signed between Parker Software and Eridanus, Inc. "Basically, Parker is going to be marketing the software developed by our company," said Mike Trivisonno of Eridanus, Inc. "Baker and Baker Classic have been given new identities and will now be sold under the names NewsHunter and NewsHunter Classic. We are encouraging all owners of Eridanus products to begin using the new applications from Parker," continued Trivisonno.

As of press time, we were unable to connect to the Parker Software Development, Inc. Web site. NewsHunter 1.5.4 is a free upgrade for registered Baker and Baker Classic users. The full version of NewsHunter is available for US$49.95.
