Intelli Innovations has released an update for Barcode Producer, bringing it to version 1.6. Barcode Producer is a barcode generator designed for business applications and product tracking. The update includes performance enhancements including GTIN barcode creation and bug fixes. According to Intelli Innovations:
Intelli Innovations is pleased to announce Barcode Producer 1.6, a new functionality update to its award-winning barcode creation software for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Barcode Producer 1.6 adds support for the easy creation of barcodes representing Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN).
Global Trade Item Numbers are unique product identification numbers represented on a variety of barcode symbologies. The Uniform Code Council is requesting that all North American companies (many of which can only scanthe 12-digit UPC codes found at retail) add the ability to read the more widely used EAN-13 symbols, so that GTINs may be fully implemented worldwide.
This update also fixes several reported issues:
- Several Jaguar-related issues, including a workaround to the "crash on quit" issue that quite a number of developers are experiencing
- "Transparent Display" checkboxes have been reintroduced by popular demand
