Bare Bones Issues EMBED Tag AppleScript For BBEdit

May 31st, 2006 at 3:00 PM - News by Brad Cook

Bare Bones Software has released a free AppleScript for BBEdit users migrating away from the EMBED tag for deploying QuickTime content, which is no longer supported without viewer interaction in new and future versions of Microsoftis Internet Explorer. The lack of support is the result of a recent settlement between Microsoft and Eolas Technology.

The company explained in a press release it issued: "The BBEdit Embed Tag Script addresses the new browser requirements for a commonly encountered CSS situation where object tags contain EMBED tags for QuickTime media that must be replaced, in this case with JavaScript function calls, to dynamically load and display media content. The BBEdit-powered AppleScript automates the implementation of the JavaScript file recommended by Apple."
